Mike Dion, president of Exterior Designs, Inc., has been in the building industry for over a quarter century. His experience, expertise, and integrity have helped Mike transform a small drywall company into the premier exterior cladding company in New England.

Mike began his career working in the drywall trade while still in high school. After high school, he perfected his craft working for a prominent drywall company. Mike worked his way through the ranks of the company, eventually becoming a field supervisor. The company's work took Mike throughout the Northeast where he built a solid reputation as a trusted partner in the construction industry.

Dion's entrepreneurial spirit moved him to open his own drywall company, Drywall Designs, in 1993. With a handful of employees, a solid reputation, and proven industry knowledge, his company grew quickly and was soon setting industry standards for the region. As the company grew, Mike also noticed a new product making its way into the marketplace- Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS). Mike saw the potential of this product and the advantages it could offer his clients.

Dion partnered with a well respected EIFS representative and soon Drywall Designs had built a great reputation for their expertise in exterior cladding. With the company's new focus, the partners decided to change the name to Exterior Designs. As EDI's reputation as an exterior cladding company solidified, it made sense to create another company that could concentrate on the drywall business. Today, MetroWalls and Exterior Designs create a great synergy that both companies can leverage for turnkey solutions for clients.

And, after 12 years of a successful partnership, Mike is once again the sole owner and president of both companies. Although his former partner decided to take some well-deserved time off, Mike has no plans to slow down. Mike loves the industry and the satisfaction and pride that comes with seeing clients' properties totally transform as a result of his entire team's hard work and dedication.

Since he opened his first company, Mike has always subscribed to fair, ethical, and above all else, honesty in dealings with both clients and employees. His home-grown New England attitude of hard work and integrity is evidenced throughout both companies; and with the numerous referrals he receives.

Mike is a strong supporter of Associated Builders & Contractors, and has been on the Board of Directors since 2007.

Mike and his family live in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. He and his wife, Kathie, enjoy summers on the lake with their two daughters-when the girls are not dancing or playing soccer. The family also loves skiing and snowmobiling in the hearty New Hampshire winters.
